The Yacht Fusilier

Fusilier is a Vancouver 34; she is fully equipped to a very high standard and can accommodate a crew of 6. All safety equipment, including lifejackets and foul weather clothing, is provided by the ISA. Fusilier is available for basic sail training, courses, team building and adventurous offshore sail training. She is insured for use by service personnel (Regular, TA, FTRS and Cadets) and, unlike JSASTC yachts, civil servants and civilians including families. She is berthed at HMS Excellent, Whale Island, Portsmouth, opposite the cross channel ferry terminal.

She is insured for local coastal waters up to and including the Channel Islands and the adjacent coast of France to Brest in Southern Brittany.

Skippered Charter

Fusilier is available skippered or bareboat. Fus Andy Barlow is a qualified Yachtmaster Coastal skipper and take you from port to port along our glorious South Coast, the Channel Islands and the Northern coast of France. You will need to bring one other RYA qualified person as below.

Bareboat Charter

You are welcome to take her off on your own, but you will need these qualifications:

• Day Sailing: RYA Day Skipper, RYA Competent Crew and 2 further crew members.
• Coastal Sailing: RYA Yachtmaster Coastal Skipper, RYA Day Skipper, RYA Competent Crew and 2 further crew members.
• Offshore (up to 60 NM): RYA Yachtmaster Coastal Skipper, RYA Day Skipper, RYA Competent Crew and 2 further crew members.

Money

Charters have to arrange all travel and administration; they are also responsible for food, berthing fees, fuel and gas.
She costs £875 per week or £125 per day.
For minor scrapes under our insurance excess (£350), the rule is: you bent it – you fix it!

Fusilier is a gem, kept up to a standard way above civilian charter yachts. Please use her, especially post operational tours, and to have a great time on the water.
