Infantry Sailing Association

The Infantry Sailing Association provides sailing opportunities to serving and retired Infantry soldiers and their families.  It has also provided support to injured servicemen as part of their recovery.

Every Infanteer past and present is a member and those with their own vessels are entitled to fly the ISA Burgee (infantry bayonet on a red burgee) with an undefaced red ensign or as an additional burgee flown inferior to the colours their vessel sails under.  ISA Burgees are available from a number of retailers, including Ensign Flags in the UK.

The ISA has had a number of offshore yachts during its history.  Currently there is the sailing yacht Fusilier based in the North East of England and a Hunter 707 providing racing experience out of Port Edgar in Scotland.  The ISA also provides adventurous training opportunities and has recently crewed legs of the Army’s entry in Exercise TRANSGLOBE and will do the same on Exercise PACIFIC LONGBOW, using JSASTC yachts.
