British Möhnesee Sail Training Centre (BMSTC) Join the ASA Today

The British Möhnesee Sail Training Centre is at the forefront of racing events; here we are leading the fleet at Lake Garda, Italy at the Laser SB3 World Championships.
The Möhnesee is best known for the Dam Buster Raid in 1943. The main dam, which is located at the western end of the valley, heads the lake some 7km in length and 1km wide. The BMSTC, located on the south-east side of the lake, in a pleasant valley. With generally stable wind patterns providing good sailing and windsurfing.
The centre has been at its present site since the 1960’s with accommodation, bar, and camping. As well as caravan pitches both daily and long term. Treat your family to that perfect getaway for the weekend. We have a BBQ area with a large lawn, sand pit for the kids and patio area to relax and enjoy the sun.
The Centre is run by WO2 Johnny Johnston and his wife Jacqui, along with Military staff from Units in Germany.
The BMSTC has a wide range of activities for soldiers and families alike. Dinghy sailing and windsurfing are the main activities. However, kayaks, paddle boards, peddleos and Canadian canoes are just some of the equipment the Centre has to offer.
Although a water based Centre, we also have a fleet of bikes for recreational cycling. The lake has a cycle path completely around it, and for the more adventurous, the 150km of woods and tracks at our front door, provides stunning walks and rides. Whether you are part of a Military Unit, youth group, school, family or individual, you can enjoy any of the activities in a friendly and relaxed environment.
Units can chose to get a qualification, or go for the round robin option and have a taste of all we have to offer. Either way with full days activities and a well stocked bar with Sky TV, pool table and games, it is a great place to come and relax away from the normal Army locations. As well as BA(G) Units from the UK visit and are always welcome. Schools, Youth Clubs and Scouts are always welcome. Over the years we have hosted many young people of all ages. All our instructors are used to working with children and are vetted accordingly. Many of the children who came on a school or centre visit have then returned and completed a course at the Centre.
Why not get yourself a qualification? As an RYA Centre we provide first class instruction from a complete beginner through more advanced skills right up to instructor level. All tuition is free with a small cost for the rental of the equipment, which is well below the cost of other clubs in the area, making this the ideal opportunity to try out new sports or improve your skills. Joining as a member will reduce this cost even further. For course dates to suit you, look on our web page www.bmstc.de or give us a call on 02924 5515.
Why not look at our web site - www.bmstc.de - for lots more detail on events such as racing, courses, regattas and what else we have to offer.
