The Army Offshore Sailing Centre

The Army Offshore Sailing Centre (AOSC) is now based at its new home alongside Hornet Services Sailing Club in the old gunboat yard in Gosport, Hampshire. Located opposite the Joint Services Adventurous Sail Training Centre, the whole site is the home of Army and Services offshore sailing in the United Kingdom. All RYA practical and shore based offshore sailing courses are carried out from the AOSC.  It is also the base for powerboat training from Powerboat Level 2 (PB2) to Advanced and instructor courses.

The AOSC houses the ASA Inspectorate comprising the Regional Coach, Offshore Chief Instructor and Wind and Kitesurfing Manager. There are also offices and stores for the Army’s offshore racing yacht British Soldier and it is the home of the Centre Manager and bosuns of the Regimental and Corps Yacht Clubs. New for 2024 we also offer the option to hire Victor our 6.4 metre rib for ASA members with a  minimum of powerboat intermediate qualification. As well we are also offering a number of skippered days with a trip to the isle of Wight and some hidden locations only accessible by rib.  Dates for 2024 are 17 Jun, 19 Jul, 16 Aug.  Bookings can be made by emailing sailing@britisharmysport.com
