ARMY INDIVIDUAL AND TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS
22 – 23 October 2011 Race Instruction
INTRODUCTION
The Inter Service Individual and Team Windsurfing Championships will be hosted by the Army and held at The Inn on the Beach, Hayling Island 22 – 23 Oct 2011.
AUTHORITY
The event will be organised by the ASA (W) Race Committee as per the ASA (W) Events Calendar 2011.
ELIGIBILITY
The event is open to all serving members of the Armed Forces.
RULES
Racing Rules as per ISAF Windsurfing Competition Rules 2006. A copy of which will be held by the ASA (W) Race Committee and also in conjunction with ASA (W) Notice of Race Instruction 2011.
REGISTRATION
Registration will take place on Sat 22 Oct at 1000hrs (NO PRE REGISTRATION REQUIRED)
DISCIPLINES
The discipline for the event will be a Course Racing (Formula) unless conditions dictate and with the agreement of all 3 Service Team Captains to amend the discipline to Slalom.
FLEETS
There will be one main fleet within the competition:
1. Individual. Each individual sailor is registered whereby the overall Forces Inter Service Champion will be decided.
2. Team. Each service will enter 1 x team of 6 sailors whereby the overall Forces Inter Service Team Champions will be decided.
EQUIPMENT
A dagger less board not exceeding 100cm wide with a maximum sail size of 11m.
WIND STRENGTHS
The minimum wind strength for racing is 10 knots decided by the Race Officer.
ENTRY FEES
There will be an entry fee of £20 for each individual.
